Last year we took Liam and Jacqueline to Enchanted Forest...I am sure you remember that post. This year we also had Lance's son Haden with us. So we were really able to do a better job of reenacting pictures that had been taken in 1973 or so. So sit back and enjoy!
While we were there we realized that the slide I had was transposed. So this is the corrected version of the slide. What we didn't take into account was the people placement would be different also. So the updated version doesn't match. But you will get the gist of it.
It wasn't until we were there that I realized there was a picture of the tee pee. I just didn't realize that there was only one with Annette in it. I am guessing that among the destroyed slides are many more Enchanted Forest ones. Dad never took just a couple slides.
Maybe someday we can get Lance here long enough to go through and truly recreate these pictures. That would be so fun! But it is great being able to put our children right where we were so many years ago! It is also impossible to recreate that yellow plaid ensemble mom had me in....thank heavens!! I am still traumatized!
Now for the rest of our visit.
Now for the rest of our visit.
Proof that Annette can loosen up and have fun!
Liam was not tall enough to be on this ride alone. This young man offered to go out with him. He also helped Liam steer.
The parking lot of Enchanted Forest can be very deceiving I found out. It was full with only a couple available spots, yet there was no virtually no lines on any rides. Liam got to be the conductor and the sole passenger on this run.
Okay...I take that back...there might have been a couple small lines. Here he is being quite patient.
And Liam made a friend.
So that is a glimpse into our day at Enchanted Forest. It is quite interesting to go to a place that has not changed much at all since you were a child. And that you can bring your children to it and see in their eyes the same excitement and wonder you had in yours so many years before.
I am glad, however, that that day is over with. They are pretty long and hot and tiring for a nearly 50 year old woman!!!
I will leave you with a Liamism: I was reading to him the other evening. Holding him on my lap. No easy feat! Then when I finished the book I lifted him and cradled him in my arms like a baby...also no easy feat! I told him how much I missed the baby boy and would he please stop growing. He said he couldn't. I asked him why. He said "because you have to be 18 years or older to buy new stuff!" Well, that is logical!
