Hello everyone! Seems I blink and it has been weeks since my last post. How does that happen? We have been plugging away here. Liam got over the flu just in time for the allergies to hit and they have hit him hard! This morning I decided to look at his bottle of Zertec much closer. Liam's main symptom or at least the one that bothers me the most, is nasal congestion. So right now, his nose is almost always completely plugged, his left eye is bloodshot...I have no idea why, his eyes water, he sneezes a lot and every so often his nose will run. Zertec is supposed to handle everything except nasal congestion. It is really doing a lousy job. He handles his nose being plugged a lot better than I do. And I am dealing with it as well. But this tends to happen to me. I get a cold. My nose gets plugged. I use Afrin for the deration of my cold, by then I have hit the 'habit forming' period. I take about 24 hours to detox from it then all is well. If that is what is going on right now then things are being very stubborn and I am just about ready to trade my nose in on a new model. I went through my stash of medicine and found some things from Walgreens for nasal congestion. Though they are past their use by date I know that pills can be good up to 5 years. I am going to give them a try...and hide the bottle of Afrin from myself!!
We have had such nice sunny days and it is horrible that I have felt so drained just trying to breathe that Liam is missing out. He doesn't let a little itchy, watery, stuffiness get him down!! But I will tell you what got him down......

That flu we had! Not the stomach flu....why they go and change the names of things baffles my mind. Why couldn't those ridiculous hardly there underwear have gotten a name all their own? Why did they have to steal the name of a piece of footwear!? Anyway...so...as you may remember we had the fever and over-all miserableness of the flu they think you need a vaccine for. And this is how Liam spent a great deal of his time. One minute he would be playing his fire or building with legos or any number of things then the next minute he would be sound asleep. I felt so bad for him. Now I just want to get him over these allergy symptoms and feeling better. But I will confess...while he was like this it was so easy to cuddle and love on him. He doesn't let me do that when he is well.
Okay...now on to the essential oil. Today I am doing Digestzen. This stuff is amazing! I have only used it one way. But I know there are many other options and can be used for many other things. Probably a couple times a week my stomach will act up a little from something I ate. Then the gurgling of the bowels start to happen and maybe a couple cramps will be thrown in. I just rub a few drops of digestzen in the area that is bothering me (lower abdomen) and within a very short time the pain and discomfort are gone. It can also be used for acid reflux and heart burn although I have not done that yet. And one very interesting use is for cough. A friend rubbed it on her granddaughters back at bedtime and her cough stopped so she was able to fall asleep. I did that for Craig but I am not sure if it worked as well for him. And it has a very pleasant smell....the same smell as one of my favorite food groups....black licorice!! For me this is an oil I do not want to run out of. That is how often I turn to it!
Liam finally decided what he wanted to spend his gift card from Aunt Missy and Uncle Lance on.

Yep...I was able to talk him out of Trashies and into legos....but it wasn't that hard. He loves minecraft. I heard the word and thought it was some horrible game. And when Craig bought it for his Fire I was upset. But then he showed me what it was. Liam loves to build and fill houses. He also loves to get lots of animals. And he really loves his new legos. This was his big thank you smile! Boy....I need to get some cleaning done! The background is a mess!!
I will leave you with a Liamism: Craig's mom has been quite sick for a few weeks and we went to see her on Tuesday. Afterwards we stopped to have some lunch. Craig and Liam went into the bathroom. The story I was told was that when Liam flushed the toilet he said "now that's entertaining!" Who knew it could be so easy!
Well, I am off to hide the Afrin before I break down and use it again. Wish me luck!!
