I am completely illiterate when it comes to this computer. So why my bold heading section disappeared as I was filling it in I may never know. Hopefully it will be back next time I get on! Today's post will be random things.
I have stocked up on incandescent light bulbs. I am a rebel. The government is not going to tell me what I can and can not light my home with. But I did relent in one area...or maybe two. At Costco the other day they had a really really good sale on LED packs.

This three pack (it was a three pack) was only $11! So we bought enough to do the entry way chandelier, which, according to Craig, is very difficult to get to. I believe him...you have to sort of hang over the second story landing and pull it over to you and there is one bulb that you still can't reach. This way, he will only have to do it every 22.8 years! We also bought a couple extra packs. LED is not my favorite lighting. It is harsher than the soft yellow of the incandescents. But our family room light just seems so dim to me...
The room is much brighter. It took me a couple days to get used to it but I am okay now. One thing I noticed...the entry way and this fixture are on dimmer switches...and LED lights, or at least these, buzz when they are dimmed any amount at all. I am not good with noise so these lights are never dimmed and I just shut off the entry way unless we are walking up and down the stairs. Liam came out of his room and said "mommy, I hear a noise..hmmmmmmmmm." As he tried to mimic it. Craig said I was creating a monster. Funny how he does not have my gene pool but sure has a lot of my issues! BUT! It is here I draw the line! No compact fluorescents will ever cross my threshold! That is one of the first of many stands this government will be creating I am sure.
My laundry room is a mess...has been since we first moved in. It has a nice counter which I have always had covered with stuff. Dozens of clothing items hanging along the wall to be ironed. And making the already narrow walkway even worse. Not long ago I thought to myself "self...wouldn't it be nice if you could just take the clothes out of the dryer and fold them right here instead of on the sofa or bed?" Well, as it turns out 'self' was thinking the same thing!

So here it is.....all but the very end of the counter cleared for clothes folding and the ironing being done as needed. I now enjoy this room. Next step....paint it! We have lived here 7 years and this is one of two rooms that has never been painted! My bedroom being the other. I might be ready for a change! I have thought a dusty yellow would be really nice in here.
About two weeks ago we took a little drive to Lebanon to visit my Uncle Wayne. When I was growing up we never saw our family in Alaska. And very little of the family in Washington. But my dad's half sister Leona and Uncle Wayne we did see! She was very nice and sweet but Uncle Wayne was FUN!!! He loved kids....you know there are just people like that. They come to life when kid is in the room. And Uncle Wayne is like that...still! We reconnected with him at my dad's funeral. He really hasn't changed a bit except for hearing aides. And he is still quite the character! So full of fun and life! We had a wonderful visit and are now waiting on the lambs for our next visit. Liam will love seeing them! His wife Opal is very sweet and I enjoyed visiting with her as Uncle Wayne took Liam and out they went to explore. He is quite a craftsman. And he gave me a very special gift.

Can you tell what this is made from? Maybe this shot will help....
Yep....two glass washboards...I didn't think to try to get it in the picture also, but hanging on the wall above this is my grandma Duncan's old washboard! When she gave it to me she said "I chased many a coverall up and down this thing." It is very special to me and this gift from such a dear member of my family is a treasure.
And now for a Liamism: "When I am a big boy I can have a milkshake with caffeine like daddy."
