Red buttons...you may wonder about these red buttons. It is such a cute and funny story...one I hope I have not shared on the blog yet. Forgive me if I repeat myself...I am aging.
Liam had a snowman. On the front of the snowman were three red buttons. He loved the snowman. Named it Sowmans (pronounced Sewmans) all over. Over time Sowmans became less of a buddy and eventually ended up in the toy box . That is until......

Liam fell in love with this book. He asked for it every night. I think I almost got it memorized! In the book Daisy Duck makes a button soup (much like the Stone Soup story) and teaches her Uncle Scrooge McDuck how to be nice and share. After reading this book for months I open it one day to find a red button in it. The button falls to the floor and I pick it up and wonder 'what the heck!" I begin searching through it to find where that button had been taped that I had never seen it before. I was so puzzled as there was no where that indicated it had been in the book. I had never seen it before. What a puzzlement!
A few days later I once again pick the book up to read it to him and another red button falls out. I am most perplexed at this point. And quite honestly believe I may be losing my mind. I ask Liam about it but he is just excited to hold the button while I read him the book about the red button that goes into the big soup pot.
A few days later I pick up the book to read it to him again and again a button falls out of it. A red button just like the ones before. Needless to say I am starting to get concerned. This time I pin Liam down and ask him about the buttons. Come to find out he had been taking the buttons off Sowmans and putting them in the book. What a relief! The book was not haunted...his room was not haunted and my mind was still intact!!! Sort of.

Have you ever seen anything as cute as this?! Here is Liam at almost six months old. We had been in Goodwill and he started to get fussy. I took him over the toy section and picked up this duck and squeezed its shoulder. It started to quack the cutest Easter song. I just discovered the battery is dead so I can not tell you which song it was. Anyway...when I held it up to him he started to laugh. He has the cutest and most contagious laugh and people popped their heads around from other isles to see what was going on. He laughed and laughed and I knew I had to get it for him. My did he love this duck.
The reason I bring this up is because I have a lot of clutter. And I am emotionally attached to a lot of clutter. This duck is one of those things. Liam is no longer attached to it but I am. Eventually the Button Soup book will be ready to get rid of and I did already through out the snowman. I thought that maybe, just maybe if I was to tell the story here...and make sure it is in Liam's journal, then I could possibly begin parting with some of his things. I did fill a garbage bag a couple nights ago while Craig had Liam out of the house. So far he hasn't noticed anything gone. Very unlike him! But I do tire of the 'stuff' all over the house. I may manage to keep a couple areas fairly clutter free. But don't open closets or cupboards! But there are areas in this house that I am ashamed of. I heard about a lady that allows herself 100 items. That is a total of 100 items. Clothes in the closet, food in the kitchen, everything. I couldn't imagine! What would I part with?! See...way too attached. I might have attachment issues!
I will leave you with a Liamism...maybe two.....A couple mornings ago I asked you if you were hungry. No you said. I said, 'what are we going to do when we are in the car and you are hungry in 20 minutes?' "You will say 'Liam, you should have eaten something when I asked if you were hungry.' I about fell over laughing! And I have been working on a menu for next month as I try to get us on the Trim Healthy Momma diet. He asked "Mommy, will you build blocks with me?" 'Honey, I'm working on a menu' as I gazed off into space thinking. He gives me this very skeptical look and says "I don't see you working on the menu."
He caught me......
