A couple weeks ago Liam was invited to a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese's. Why am I the parent who always ends up taking him to this place!? And in answer to the question in the heading.....I never want to go back! Why it has to be so noisy, so obnoxiously noisy, I will never know. I know the kids love it. Liam loves Chuck E Cheese. And since only the birthday kids really get much interaction at all with the big eared fellow it seems that I should host at least one party there for him. But I truly think it would be the death of me! The birthday boy at this party did not want to go in the wind tunnel thingy. So Liam got to. He really enjoyed doing this. And he caught 11 tickets! He was so proud:) And cute I might add:)
Has this ever happened to you? You are typing along...you have written quite a piece. Told some funny stuff...thanked some people for helping you...told more funny stuff. Then accidently hit one key...just one little old key and everything you just typed...all the wonderful things you just typed vanished! Am I the only one this has ever happened to? We returned a lap top because it happened to me so much. I know that if David was here he could have found my poor deleted words. But he isn't even on facebook right now to ask....he is a late sleeper and I bet he is sawing logs while my whole blog falls apart!
How am I to recreate the paragraphs that are no more. Oh the injustices of this world! Okay...I guess I am over it. I will quickly, because it is now past my bedtime, recap. I was blessed by one thing at Chuck E Cheese's. Andrew and Megan took Liam around almost the whole time and helped him play the games and win tickets to buy prizes. Liam had a blast. At one point I was going to take him around but he said "no mommy...Andrew takes me". Andrew was so patient and good with him. Their baby is due any day and I think they will be very doting parents. And speaking of Andrew...his sister Amanda, the young lady who Craig walked down the isle in October, called us the other night with exciting news! They are expecting!!! She will be a mommy in October! I am so happy for her and Austin! What a blessing to watch a young couple saving themselves for the person they would marry and saving that special moment for their wedding night. Starting their marriage off with a good Biblical foundation. And then letting God have control of the womb. You just don't see that in this world any more. There is a saying that speaks so well of this. 'God has said that children are a blessing and debt is a curse, we refuse God's blessings and sign up for curses'. How sadly true that is. So two precious babies being born into that family!
I am in great pain as I sit here. I have spent a good chunk of the last two days weeding. I wanted to get an early start, one, because things are looking really really bad. Two, because maybe if I get rid of the bad weeds...think Shot Weed and grasses, before they go to seed I might have a good chance at better weed control this summer. Two friends from my Bible study came and spent about an hour or so helping me. What a blessing that was! I still have a long long way to go! Tomorrow will be busy. I am planting peas, helping load garbage and yard debris into the truck for a trip to the dump, seeding my starts for a late May planting and more weeding. Hopefully after tomorrow all this aching will be so worth it as the backyard will be stunning! I took before pictures but can't show them until I can follow them with after pictures. I am just so ashamed of how things get to looking over the winter. The sun was shining and Liam felt it was perfect weather for swimming. He found a big puddle and got soaking wet! Then he took off all his clothes and his wet little body got into the sandbox. I am not sure how he got sand in his hair but we are still feeling it on his head. Only a boy! But we sure soaked up some Vitamin D!
Liam has mastered the art of stalling. Who teaches them these things?! Each night he comes down four times. You can almost set your clocks to it. The first time is always to tell you that in the morning we will build a new track. The second time is always involving food or water. The third time can vary, but generally it is to see if you have changed your mind about letting him stay downstairs if he is really really quiet. The last time is because his fire is red and he is ready to go to sleep. Tonight his third trip down was to check on daddy. Since daddy is asleep through this five nights a week it was a special treat for him. 'Mommy, where's daddy?" Down here Liam. "Where?" In his chair Liam. "Oh, okay." Why are you down here Liam? "I need to come down and keep an eye on daddy in his chair." And he thought he would get away with it. Funny little man!
I will leave you with a Liamism: Sunday morning I was trying to get him to eat something before we left for church. I offered him a couple things that I thought might interest him. Finally he said "no mommy, I don't want no ingredients this morning."
