Well...I thought I would be doing a post on the finished and running truck. But it seemed the truck was not interested in cooperating with Craig's friend. So today, after watching some youtube videos and once again renting the engine lifter outer, things are looking bright once again! They found out some more things had to be removed before the engine would go back into place properly. Tomorrow he will be out one more time to hook up the last of the pieces and start it up. This poor man has been here every single day, except Friday, for the last 6 days! We owe him huge!!
Our Valentine's Day was supposed to go one direction...but, as happens when life gets involved...it went a different direction. Liam was to go to a friends house and play with her kids while Craig and I had some time with each other. What actually happened was Craig did a little helping with the truck, Liam laid under a blanket while insisting he was feeling fine, and I crawled into bed and dozed off and on for about two hours. When I woke up I went into the garage knowing Liam was out there with the guys and hoping someone had put a jacket on him. Well, he had a jacket on but it was an off the shoulder look. I said "Liam you need to come in with me, it's too cold to be out here while you are sick." He responded "but mom, I'm wearing a coat." "Barely." I said. He came in with no further argument. I fed him some dinner and after sitting on the floor with his cars he fell asleep. He was sound asleep at 6:00 this evening! At 8:00 Craig helped me get him to bed and then he went to bed also. Liam is running about a 100 degree temperature, and has been for most of the day. His little body needs all the sleep he can get. Unlike the other night where he got up to play with his Fire for a little bit, when I took his temp a little while ago he woke up, sat up, mumbled something and then fell right back to sleep. My temperature has hovered right around 100.2 all day. And I am coughing up some really fun stuff. And feeling pretty drained. Craig, though he sounds horrible, is actually on the mend. He has not run a fever all day and even joked a little once. He is going back to work tomorrow. He says it will serve the inmates right since they were the ones who gave this to him! Actually, he plans on wearing a mask. So all things considered we are not going to church tomorrow. Nobody wants what we have! And I am sure hoping that we are feeling well on Monday. I need to catch up on some housework and Liam needs some time with his dad.
I will leave you with a Liamism: Last night before going to bed I got Liam's gift and Craig's card ready and on the table for them to see this morning. Liam's was in a big red back and I had left the big soft frog sticking out just a little over the top of the bag. Since Liam rarely comes downstairs until we all do in the mornings I was surprised when he came into my room and asked if the "big red bag with the stuffed animal on top of it" was his. I said yes it was. Instead of racing downstairs to dig into the bag he hugged his dad and thanked him and kissed him, then he hugged me and thanked and kissed me and said "you guys are the best!" Then he got himself dressed and waited until his daddy and I were ready to go down. I think that that was very mature of him. He looked but didn't touch when he first saw it, made sure it was for him and then waited until we were with him to open it. We also gave him a heart with chocolates in it. Craig discovered where he had hidden it and we saw that he only had one piece out of it! Me? It would have been gone!
So that was our day. Hopefully tomorrow will be even better and we are all on the mend. Especially the little short man!
