Precious Momma....
This has been an amazing last couple days with the Canadian Geese in our area. Our subdivision is surrounded on three sides by many acres of farm land. I believe most of it is grass seed but not positive. And we see our share of these wonderful birds every year. But in the last couple days the flocks have been so enormous and go on and on as they fly overhead. I run to the windows or doors when I hear them. Their calls to each other as they fly just warms my heart. This area has been farmed for many years...but I see each year they are chased out of more and more areas. But it appears they continue to thrive. Near the prison where my husband works you will see them along the road...mommy, daddy and babies if it is that time of year. I just love all wildlife!
Today I picked up my Zaycon food order. Eighty pounds of chicken breast! After several packages going into the freezer, a package to my sister and a huge tupperware mixing bowl ready with chunks for canning tomorrow, I am thinking I will have to get out both canners. I still haven't even opened the other fourty pound box!!
Last night Craig put Liam to bed. As I fold clothes I hear them start to read one of Liam's favorite books, God's Happy Family, one of many precious children's books put out by a Mennonite company. What I heard went something like this....Craig "Our families all outside tonight, big brother mows the lawn" Liam..."no daddy, he mows the yard". Craig..."my sisters weeding flower beds" Liam...'and mother plants swiss chard".....and for the rest of the book Craig reads a line then Liam says the next line. It was so cute! Liam has had a couple favorite books over the three years of his life. His first being Wocket in my Pocket....Craig and I still have it memorized we read it so much! Liam used to choose which page to be read. The books never went in order, it was a comical thing.
It rained most of the day today, yet was remarkably warm. Liam wanted outside so badly. If he didn't have a cold I just might have let him out with his 'rainbrella'. Maybe tomorrow.
So now I need to head off to bed. Big day in the kitchen tomorrow!
