Well...maybe all the glitches are not solved. As you can see, I lost the main heading space. It disappeared into oblivion and that 'button text' is completely unexplainable! But you are not here to critique my blog are you? Thank goodness!
As mentioned we are having a sunny day after a couple days of thick fog. I personally love the fog. But I think the sun worshippers won out for today. I will admit it is nice. But it is January for pity sake! Last Tuesday we went to central Oregon to celebrate my step dad's birthday. Years gone by, we would have driven through packed snow higher than the van on either side of the road. There was no snow on the sides of the road. No snow in the snow park near the summit and very little snow on the mountains. I heard that two ski resorts haven't even opened this winter and the rest are only running a couple of their lifts. Our mountains are at 23% of average snow pack right now. Detroit Dam which is typically low after being emptied in the fall is only a trickle...less than I have ever seen it. And there is not very much snow to fill it this spring. I realize that we have nothing to complain about when you consider what my brother in Texas is seeing and dealing with. But for us....this is highly unusual. And for someone who gardens their summer away....a little unnerving!
This time of year I start to get excited for Valentines Day. Especially now with Liam it is fun to celebrate. My entry way, where the above picture is taken, begs for attention and not just at Christmas. So I got on line and searched for ideas on decorating stairways in the more off seasons. I got the idea for these hearts from a totally different decorating plan but using my little thinker I managed to put these hearts together and create this chain. All from scraps of paper in the craft tub. It didn't really show up as much as I had imagined. And the picture does do it justice. But it made Liam's eyes sparkle and that was what I was going for. So in that regard...job well done! I am going to have to work on my imagination because there is only Christmas and Halloween ideas for stairways on the internet. It shouldn't be too hard though......a leaf type garland for fall......some spring flower type garland for spring......we will have to see what I come across when the time comes. I also have some window clings for Valentines that I will put up. I have a 'Let It Snow' window cling on the sliding glass door...it has been there since right after Thanksgiving. It is not doing its job as we have seen no snow.
Last Thursday evening at church the Master's Cub (the program for the younger kids) did a song for the adults.

Last Thursday evening at church the Master's Cub (the program for the younger kids) did a song for the adults.
He stood up there so straight and still as he sang. He didn't know all the words but he knew enough to play the part. I spent years (over 25) watching little performances and dreaming of my own child being up on the stage. When I heard they were going to be singing for us I ran out to the van and grabbed the camera. Miraculously I hadn't taken it out of the van from our trip over the mountain. Sadly I hadn't taken it out of the van then either. But I was able to get a picture of him being adorable. This is such a sweet group of children that he is growing up with. We are blessed. Then I happened to snap one more of him. He was sitting so still and good. I couldn't resist!
I need to invest in a new camera. The one I use was refurbished so we got a good deal on it. And we have had it since long before Liam was born. I am not sure if the quality of the photos is the camera or me. My left hand trembles quite badly when I hold things. I have never been to a doctor about it so I basically self diagnosed myself with Essential Tremors. It is genetic, mainly passed down through women in families though men are not totally immune. My maternal grandmother had it and my maternal grandfathers sister had it. My mom mentioned her hand shakes sometimes but refuses to believe this is why. Mine was first noticed one or two Christmases before Liam was born. A friend asked me if I knew my head was shaking. No I didn't. And up until a few months ago I didn't. Now the shake is noticeable enough for me to notice. My left hand is quite bad and every so often my right hand will tremble. Thankfully it is not affecting my writing or typing. They do offer anti-seizure medications for it but fortunately I am not near the point where I would consider something like that and the possible side affects from these drugs makes the tremors seem like a party. But I am thinking that maybe we should search cameras out and see if there is one that might be a little better for a shaky hand to use. I love taking pictures and love sharing on my blog and through e-mails the bits of our lives captured on film. We do have a nice camera.....you know that whole technologically challenged thing we have covered recently on this blog? Well that comes into play in a huge way with that camera. And it is not one you can tuck in your purse or Bible bag and discreetly pull out for quick moments like this was. In fact...Craig, who is not technologically challenged is not big on using it. We are more your point and shoot type folk. And with Liam there is never a dry spell of point and shoot type moments!
So I have sat here in my quiet home drinking a cup of tea and sharing my life with you all. Craig took Liam to get a haircut and an ice cream cone. Last month it would have been a hair cut and lunch. But one of my New Year Resolution type things was our finances. And so far I have to say I have done well. Better than I ever imagined I could! I was going to ask Craig to cut his hair. Liam was all for daddy doing it. But I have sort of dumped this new frugal attitude in his lap this month and I didn't want to put him into total shock. I will shoot for that next hair cut time. So next month...I will share my 'resolutions' with you if I am still sticking to them and being successful! So far so good!
I will leave you with a Liamism: The other night Liam was cleaning up his legos when all of a sudden he started screaming and pointing 'a pincher beetle!!! a pincher beetle!!! Daddy! Here he is!!!! Do your job!!!" Sadly I have given him my irrational fear of pincher beetles (earwigs). But thankfully daddy did his 'job'!!!!
I have to add here....I am not one of those women who is afraid of all creepy crawlies. I have one fear and one alone in the bug kingdom. Earwigs....
