I am sure most of you know who this fellow is. Joseph. The same Joseph from the book of Genisis. All decked out in his coat of many colors. You all know what happened to young Joseph. His brothers hated him because their father loved him best. Made him the fancy coat and all. They sold him to traveling Ishmaelite's and he was taken to Egypt.
Well, that story took on new and exciting meaning on Thursday night! Liam has never articulated to me what he was learning at church in his little classes. I always ask and he always says "I don't remember". Though he does often serenade me with sweet little songs he learns. As we were leaving the church parking lot Thursday evening he told me with much excitement....."Mommy! A dolphin ate Joseph because he was going to listen to God!!" That could be a deterrent for obedience...you think?

I think it might have been this fellow...he looks guilty.
So we might be having a Doctrinal difference at my church. And the pastor told me today he will get to the bottom of it. I plan on harassing a couple teachers I know. But sadly today as Liam helped me prepare the breakfast casseroles for our little vacation to Coos Bay with the church group we are involved in, he did tell me that it was in fact Jonah, and he was in fact 'eaten' by a whale, because he did in fact NOT obey God.
And the picture at the top of the page? That is an old church in Salem that is now a private residence. Wouldn't it be fun to live in an old church? I love that program "You Live In What?" There have been several church renovations and I just love to watch them.
I will now leave you with a Liamism...actually this whole post is a Liamism. But this is something he did, not said. He dug the finger nail clippers out of the drawer the other day and clipped all his toenails all by himself! He has never let me do more than clip his big toes twice. That is it since birth! Even as a tiny baby sound asleep I was not able to do it because he slept so light and didn't want me touching his feet. So you may ask...what is the Liamism about this? Well, he clipped his own toenails, and did a really good job I might add, but will not dress himself. Though he has started thinking about doing his shoes alone. And they say thinking is half the battle.....I think they say that.
