As I see the pictures of grieving women at the grave sights of their warriors I feel so blessed that that is not a pain I have had to endure. And my heart aches for them. And I am going to get very politically incorrect here, but my heart also ached for the families of these fallen heroes who were forced to listen to the meaningless words of Mr. Obama this afternoon. The very man working so hard to destroy our military....empty, meaningless words. I would have loved to hear President Reagan give that speech!
Now, if I was on the ball I would have taken a picture of the front of our house where I have flags displayed. That would have been nice for this post. But I didn't. Generally my brain does not work that way.
Today we had lunch with Craig's mom which is always a very nice time. Liam had an ice cream cone and a plate of sprinkles. The idea daddy had was to dip the cone into the sprinkles...Liam's idea was to put a (single, tiny) sprinkle on the cone, lick it off then put on another one. Well...it did buy us a lot of time to just sit and visit. Then we walk next door to the pet store and say hello to the Ferrets. They are a comical thing. We also went to Goodwill. This never happens to me, but I found two denim jumpers and one dress all with the half off tag color! So for $10.50 I got three great dresses! I also got two pairs of shoes..one half off tag color. They were much needed and it was a great shopping trip! We stopped at a nursery that I never go to any more because it is out of the way of my usual travels. But decided after that visit I will go there all the time. I have really bad leaf curl on my plum tree and I had three men helping me find the perfect solution. I never got that good of help at the place I pass a few times a week! Then I needed to fill my water bottle and was just going to do it in the ladies bathroom...one of the employees said "oh, don't fill it there...the water is so horrible" and led me back the break room where I filled it from their filtered water system. So nice!
Speaking of trees, I have counted just over 50 apples on my Honeycrisp and easily that many on the Braeburn! That is amazing for them both! I picked almost two pounds of strawberries before the rain started again. We are just getting down pour after down pour the last few days. About an inch a day! I would love to send some of it to my brother in Texas!
It is late and I should do my Bible reading before my eyes get too heavy. Nighty night!
