On Monday we traveled to Auntie Pam's new home in Hillsboro to spend the night. Liam asked me every day for a week leading up to it if it was the day we were going. Imagine his excitement when I told him "tomorrow is the day!" We couldn't get out of the house fast enough on Monday morning. Have I ever mentioned 'turn left'? Turn Left is the name he gave our GPS when he could talk. The reason it is named turn left is because the first thing it says as we leave the house every time is "turn left". Bet you guessed that huh? So, he knew we were going to Auntie Pam's new house so he kept a close eye on turn left as we headed out. And turn left got us there with no problem so all went well. It was wonderful to see Pam and Marvin and catch up after more than two months apart! They celebrated both our birthdays Monday evening.
Liam had a lot of fun eating a cake pop.
After dinner it was time for birthday lego's and puzzles.
All the hands that worked on the puzzle.
Pam showed us around her new area. We took a walk around the pond at the library. Liam was even given some bread to feed the ducks.

I was on zoom with this picture...yes...I was nervous!
And of course we couldn't leave on Tuesday without more lego time. Auntie Pam sure knows how to keep a little boy happy. She comes up with all sorts of ideas for fun play! Must be why her sons turned out such fine young men.
We had a wonderful time! My insomnia had me concerned about sleeping there. I barely sleep on a perfect night in my own bed. And put me in a strange bed with Liam next to me?! Yikes! But it was just fine. The bed was very comfortable, Liam fell asleep quickly and didn't poke me with a knee or elbow once all night!!! I fell asleep within a decent time frame and though I seemed to wake up my normal amount of times during the night I had no problem falling back asleep. I very much enjoyed the devotion time Monday evening. Liam didn't appreciate it as much but he is learning how to sit still at church and during school at home. He will get better and better. Pam always puts him to work in the kitchen helping her and it helps me to remember that he is old enough to do some things. He loves to roll stuff and she had him roll hotdogs up in dough. He set the table and just did what he could to help. I learn so much just watching her interact with him. And he loves her. That is so important. She and Marvin make him feel special.
Thank you so much, both of you, for a wonderful time!!
I will leave you with a Liamism: Today, during the last few minutes of school, which is flashcard time, Liam began wiggling and squirming. He sits still for about 45 minutes, so I generally don't worry about flashcard time as long as he is answering questions. Anyway....he started standing in his chair and jumping off. I was just getting ready to tell him to stop when he fell. Somehow he managed to hurt his bottom. Maybe coming down on the chair...I am not sure. So we went downstairs and he lay on his tummy on the couch with an ice pack on his bottom. He insisted that was the only treatment that would work. I went and practiced my piano lesson then decided to start a batch of banana bread. I checked on him and told him what I was doing and he said "I'm so sorry mommy, I can't help you make the bread this time because I hurt my bottom and can't get up yet". Am I a bad mommy if I felt relief?
