So...today I was going to blog about the beautiful May wedding we attended. But, there are two main pictures that I can not locate. So I have to wait until Craig gets home and hopefully he knows where he put them! Without those two pictures I don't think the post will be near as wonderful.
So I will cover other items of interest...mostly without pictures and there are a whole lot on my camera and me unable to take them off. Today is national eat your vegetables day! I grew up with a dad who gardened and a mom who cooked everything that came in from the garden. I grew up watching Popeye getting strong eating his spinach. I grew up during a time when fast food and eating out was a very rare and special treat. And my parents didn't play games at the dinner table. You ate what was put before you. I don't even recall my mom asking what we might be in the mood for. Not that that is bad. I just don't recall it. I will give Liam two or three options ever so often and he does have an opinion!

So on this national veggie day I am pleased to announce that we are a family not afraid of vegetables. Well....Liam and I are not. Craig gets concerned when there is too much green color on his dinner plate. But he is improving. And I love spinach! So eat your vegetables today folks!!!
A week ago Jacqueline had her last voice recital of the year. She did wonderful of course. She performed two songs. In My Own Little Corner and Almost There. So many of the kids just stand straight as a rod and sing. No expression or hand movements or anything. Not Jacqueline! As you can see by her face she is quite expressive with the songs. She walks around, moves her hands and even once bent at the waist and made the whisper motion to go along with what she was singing. I have loved every minute of watching her talents unfold. Have I mentioned she takes after me! Except with the piano. That is her mother's gift. But I try!
We have been having some nice rain lately. It makes it so I have to weed....but the garden is quite happy. I have several pictures on the camera and will blog about that when Craig loads them onto the computer.
And now for a story about the power of suggestion. On Sunday I called my step dad to wish him a Happy Father's Day. We talked for a few minutes during which time he asked me if we were keeping well. I said yes. I then talked to Jacqueline for about three minutes then my mom. They are all in Texas visiting my brother and his family. While talking to my mom I started feeling that achy tingling in the back of my throat and the pressure building in my sinus's! I kid you not...it took less than 10 minutes for Dad to make a suggestion about our health until I had a cold!! And it is a humdinger! I may just be old and less able to handle them...probably the case....but colds seem to just knock me down as I age. So yes, I do blame him for this. I might have used his name in vain last night as I tried desperately to breath in bed. So I suppose it is okay that it is raining outside. I don't feel much up to doing anything anyway. And it gives me a good excuse to tell Liam no to bike rides.
So, with that all said I think it might be time to blow my nose again. Then sit on the sofa and have a pity party. Those are always fun. Liam will be down soon and I will try once again to explain to him that I am not feeling very well and just sort of want to sit and moan and he will totally ignore me and beg to go on a bike ride or build track or play in the dirt or any number of things. And I will counter with reading him books or playing with cars or stuffed toys on the sofa. He will counter, I will counter...tempers will flare.... no, it won't get that bad...I hope! Then daddy will get home and I will get a reprieve. I will miss Bible study....life is so unfair! But I will recover to go on bike rides and build tracks and allow dirt play.
Oh...and an update......I never had to use vinegar on the horsetail, though I might still try just for chucks and giggles. Craig sprayed them with wild blackberry killer. And it not only kills them but it seems to stall new ones from coming up!! You have no idea, unless you are tormented by the stuff, what a relief that is!
So on that note I will leave you with a Liamism: This is something new that has been happening lately. You say something to him like...Liam if you don't finish your chicken you will not get any ice cream, and he will say "You mean I never get to ride my bike again?" HUH! No kidding, we are getting a lot of that lately. So the other day Craig gets home from work and is showing me the fuses he purchased. He said "It cost $4 for these three fuses. Liam jumps in to the conversation with "You mean you got something to drink and went to Millersburg Park?!" Someone in this family might have to be admitted before this is over!
