It all started when I found this cool looking thing on the store shelf. Now sit back and enjoy my tutorial (mom said that is the word for it) With a little help from Auntie Pam.
Mix the shortening and the flour.
Add the ice water.
Finally! I get to play with the dough....briefly.
While the dough was getting cold in the refrigerator I worked on the filling. Auntie Pam cut up the apples. Time for the brown sugar....I love brown sugar!
Add the flour....
Cinnamon....then stir well.
Finally! I get to get my hands really messy!! Spread the flour on the counter. Mommy says I have the cutest little fingers.
Mommy says I am way too sweet!
Auntie Pam felt I was ready for the heavy duty equipment!
Fill with the yummy stuff....hard not to sample my way through this part.
Then fold it closed. I can almost taste them!
Poke the top with a fork a couple times....more is better though! Maybe a couple dozen! You can never jab a sharp object into a soft object enough.
Spread on the cream then pop in the oven. Then we wait...and wait.....and wait. Waiting is never easy. But while it cooks I will tell you about my day. It was a long drive to Auntie Pam's..she lives a long ways a way! And my fire died before we got there, mommy forgot the charger. Good thing I brought my remote control car. We went to a thrift store and I found this cool white thing on a shelf. I used it as a clapper, and a hat. Auntie Pam seems to think it works better for making these pies. She is right! I helped Auntie Pam make the salad for the dinner. I might have eaten all the cucumbers out of it while I was cutting the carrots. I got to use that cool cutter again. It made the carrots look just like fries. Since fries are like my very favorite food I ate the carrots too! I did a good job eating my dinner. Mommy was pretty tickled. She is so easy to please sometimes.
I think I hear the timer......oh, just the few minute warning. Boy it is hard to be patient. But I got to take my mind off things by driving my remote control car from Aunt Missy and Uncle Lance around. It was sure fun spinning the tires in the dirt! I sort of got in trouble for that. I had to leave it on the patio and I worried that someone would come by and steal it. It is a really cool car you know!
Oh...there's the buzzer again! They are ready!

Just when a fellow thinks it is time for pie you find out you have to eat your dinner first. Life is not fair!
AHHH....Sweet reward!
I always have such a good time with Auntie Pam. She sure knows how to make a boy feel special! I know she has a lot of fun while I am there...but I heard mom say that she must breathe a sigh of relief when we walk out the door! I would think it would get way too quiet!
I fell asleep on the way home. While we were driving through Portland. Veggie Tales in the cd player just doesn't keep a guy awake for long. It was nice to have my daddy come and carry me into the house. I sure love to snuggle with him! I think he really missed me!
Mom says she always ends with a Liamism. So here's one you might enjoy. Daddy asked me which movie I wanted to watch. "It's in there" I replied. What's in where? he asked. "The movie" I replied. In where? he asked. "In the player" I replied. Show daddy how you put it in there. He says. "I pushed this button and this button and then put it here" I replied. He looks at mommy and says I did it right! He asks me when I put it in there. "Miles of days ago!" I replied.
