Just look at the snazzy things offered to the modern parents in 1964! Did you know that the tray on those high chairs got scratched and rusty? I know because as I go through the slides that dad took I see it by the time Lance comes along. There were no pictures of it new with me in it.
So on this November 12th I am turning 49. Wow! Physically I feel every bit of it and more! But mentally...you know, sometimes I feel as though I could walk right back into Cascade High School and take my seat in a class like I had never left.
So enjoy a stroll down memory lane with me to birthdays past.

As I am sure you have picked up after reading my blog...my dad was an avid fisherman and loved being in a boat on the water. I was not quite so avid about it...but here he has started me young.
My first birthday.
Grandpa and Grandma Duncan on my first birthday. I miss them so much sometimes.
More modern technology from 1964.
Birthdays number two and three. Grandpa and Grandma Sellon. Wonderful grandparents who I miss .
And four. Oh look...rusty scratched tray by Annette.....I thought things were built to last back then.
My ninth birthday. the blond girl in the picture is Shelly Ingalls. She was my first friend and I would love to talk with her again.
Mom made us our requested cake...or in this case...pie. I loved either German Chocolate cake or Cherry Cream Cheese Pie...as this picture shows.
The above picture is the last picture I could find as a teenager. And the picture below is the only one I could find as an adult. Pretty sad. Liam is helping me with this one. My brother is in the white shirt so I am thinking this is two years ago when grandma Sellon died. He came for her service which was on my birthday that year.
So today has no special plans...the cat still wants to be fed, Liam still pesters me, Craig still has to work. Breakfast, dishes...Lunch, dishes...piano lesson. I think I will pick up shrimp and make shrimp fettuccini for my birthday dinner. That sounds really good. I picked up an individual cake yesterday to make sure that Liam had candles to help me blow out.
I woke up this morning thinking how blessed I am to have another year of life to look back on and remember. It is a good life God has given me!
